The Rite

The Rite is set in current day Roma where a "on the fence" priest in training is sent to become a exorcist, he seems to fight the church and doubt religion so they send him to a unorthodox priest, where he learns that the only way to defeat the devil is to believe in him. As a horror movie "The Rite" falls short with to few scares and honestly way to much religious propaganda. (far to many time are the digs about atheists being to scared to believe and even  if u dont believe its still there ) Though you can class this as a religious horror, it sometimes comes off much to strong as a Be a priest commercial. If you enjoy the mythology of the christian faith then the story is rather solid, with the lots of little references to demonology. Where this movie really shines thought is the preformace of Anthony Hopkins who is just all around excellent as ever, be it from the one hundred percent believable pries to when (kinda Spoilers) hes possessed by the devil, you will enjoy it all. To sum up the movie was a slow at times, not scary, but still kinda fun, well acted and the story was at least enjoyable. For this one id say if you have nothing better to do or wanna see a movie but dont care if its a 10 go see this, but dont rush.
